If you live in the NorthEast, you cannot help but feel a bit of fear at the state of the financial world. First it was Bear Stearns losing its way and then Lehmen Brothers. Most recently, it was the venerable Merrill Lynch making headlines and now Morgan Stanley. If you watch the news, the tenor is dire: there will be layoffs ... and yet, my favorite wool sweater for the Fall at JCrew was sold out in navy weeks ago in the dead of summer. Go figure!
